Scholarships & Bursaries
We want to make our Outdoor Leadership Program more accessible to more families on the Sunshine Coast.
To support this vision, Wildwood Independent School is proud to offer two scholarship opportunities for students entering Grades 6–8 in the 2025/26 school year. These scholarships are designed to welcome students who are a great fit for Wildwood, whether they shine in the forest, in their communities, or simply need a little financial help to get through the door.
The Wildwood Roots Scholarship
This merit-based award celebrates students who:
Show curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning
Demonstrate care for their community or the natural world
Would thrive in an environment built on outdoor learning, leadership, and connection
Award amount: Up to 50% of annual tuition
Who should apply: Students entering Grades 6–9 who are excited to be part of Wildwood’s founding community
Selection criteria: A short student reflection, a parent/guardian statement, and optional recommendation
The Wildwood Access Bursary
This needs-based bursary is here to help make Wildwood more accessible to families who value what we offer but may not have considered independent school a financial possibility. There is a tiered award system for families that are granted the scholarship which will be shared upon application.
Award amount: Up to 50% of annual tuition
Who should apply: Families who need financial assistance to join Wildwood
Selection criteria: A family statement, basic financial information, and a conversation with the school director

Interested in being part of a small, values-driven school community
Families that require financial need
What to Submit
Student Reflection (written or video; approx. 200–300 words or 1–2 minutes):
Tell us about something that inspires you. It could be a place, a project, a hobby, or an idea. Why do you love it? How does it help you grow or think differently?Parent/Guardian Statement (approx. 200 words):
Why do you think Wildwood is a good fit for your child? What are you hoping they’ll gain from this kind of education?Optional: Letter of support from a teacher, coach, mentor, or community leader.
Wildwood Access Bursary
For families who need financial assistance to access a Wildwood education.
Eligibility Criteria
Entering Grade 6, 7, or 8 in September 2025
Committed to full participation in Wildwood’s learning approach
Demonstrates financial need
What to Submit
Family Statement (approx. 200–300 words):
Tell us about your child—what makes them who they are, what excites them about learning, and why Wildwood feels like a good fit.Financial Overview:
Brief summary of any extenuating financial circumstances (e.g. job loss, health costs, single income, etc.)
Optional: Student reflection (see Roots Scholarship) or a letter of recommendation
Short Conversation: If shortlisted, families will be invited to a short informal chat with the principal to ensure mutual fit and clarify financial needs.
